They go by names Faisal Hakeem (Omar Sterling) and Rashid Mugeez (Mugeez) together they’re known as R2Bees.
R2bees is a Ghanaian hiphop and highlife duo from Tema who have been doing music since 2007.
Here are some interesting things you didn’t know about the duo.
Paedae (Omar Sterling) is the leader and CEO of the group and Mugeez, lead singer.
They were born in Tema, east of the country’s African city, Accra Ghana.
It will interest you to know that they’ve been together their whole life, lived in the same house and attended the same junior, primary, and secondary school in Tema.
R2bees have four studio albums in the market, with over 36m youtube streams and 22m audiomark streams.
They’ve won so many awards and recognition which includes; High-life song of the year, Hiplife song of the year, group of the year, Vodafone most popular song of the year, Hiplife/Hiphop artiste of the year etc.They have also been nominated for the headies and BET awards in 2013
Away from the group they have Individual projects they have both released as solo artistes;
Omar Sterling has a mixtape titled “Victory Through Harmony” released in September 2016 and an album titled “Same Earth, Different Worlds” released this year.
Mugeez doesn’t have a compilation project yet but he has created his own music label “extrial music” to promote upcoming artistes and his solo projects. Mugeez has a couple of singles under his name and he’s working on his first solo EP which will be released in the nearest future.
