In May of 1998, Cameroonian artiste, Henri Dikongué then signed to Tinder records stunned the world as he dropped the album, “C’est la vie“.
The “C’est la vie” album was a massive hit and recorded thousands of sales, described by the Los Angeles Times Newspaper as “music that, in addition to its appealing acoustic qualities, takes decidedly assertive points of view via lyrics and attitude, and it represents an important new shift in African pop”.
The album “C’est la Vie” was ranked first at the World Music Charts Europe in January 1998. Top, most listened and celebrated songs from the album included “C’est la Vie“, “Ndutu” and “Bulu bo windi tenge“.
The song C’est La Vie, written by Jean-Michel Blan, painter and author, was ranked in 1997-98 twentieth best rotation francophone in the world.
The song “Ndutu” was used in 2000 by Kodak for a TV commercial in the United States. (Wikipedia)
