Salatiel wins big at AFRIMA 2019, is crowned the Best Male Artiste from Central Africa 2019
The 6th edition of the All Africa Music Awards AFRIMA 2019 held this past Saturday 23rd November 2019 in Lagos Nigeria and Cameroonian artiste, Salatiel won big as he returned with the award of “Best Male Artiste Central Africa”.
Cameroonian artiste, Salatiel brought home the prestigious prize of Best Artiste in Central Africa beating Central African Heavyweights like Fally Ipupa, Niska, Maitre Gims and his fellow countrymen, Magasco and Locko who were all nominated in this regional category.
Salatiel was nominated for his hit song “Anita” which currently has 6.4m views on YouTube and thousands of views on other digital platforms.
In his speech after receiving the award, Salatiel thanked Cameroon for supporting him and told the audience that he is a songwriter, producer and artiste, and that he has produced and written songs for other artistes who have graced same stage and won awards. This is his first award at the AFRIMAs.
Recall that 2019 has been an amazing year for the superstar artiste, Salatiel as he featured in Beyoncé’s recently released ‘Lion King’ Album which also included many of Africa’s beast acts including African artists like, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Mr. Eazi, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Moonchild Sanelly, Busiswa, Shatta Wale, and Tiwa Savage.
The event as usual was full of glamour as several artistes from all over Africa were present to watch the rewards of their hard work through the year.
Which Cameroonian artistes were present?
Most noteworthy, representing Cameroon were Salatiel, Locko and Magasco who were all nominated for the category “Best Male Artiste Central Africa”. Daphne who won the category for “Best Female Artiste” Central Africa couldn’t be part of the event as she is currently in the USA.
