Njoya Ajara‘s goal against New Zealand in the recently concluded FIFA Women’s world cup has been nominated for the price of Best Goal of the year AKA Puskás Award.
The Cameroonian footballer will be competing with 9 others including big names like Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic who also recorded good goals for their clubs, Barcelona and LA Galaxy respectively.
“It is a huge privilege to be nominated alongside the world’s leading footballers like Messi and Zlatan. It makes you want to work more.” Ajara speaking to CultureEbene.
Ajara invites all Africans to vote for her to win this award, which is by the way the only African goal on the list.
The public vote will end on September 1, 2019 at midnight. The three goals with the most votes on FIFA.com will then be voted on by the FIFA Legends, who will decide who wins the FIFA Puskás Prize 2019.
