We stumbled on some fantastic news a few days ago about the artiste, Lilm working with FKI PROD.
The Young Belgian artiste recently trusted Cameroonian label FKI Prod with the audio and video production of its first single titled “RASTAMAN”.
This sounds very much like an accomplishment for the young Cameroonian record label because we’ve seen many times of recent that artistes prefer to use Europeans and Americans for their music projects. Even Cameroonian artistes aim to reach a level where they bring in foreign producers and directors for their music projects. But with the Belgian artist LILM, we are witnessing the reverse.
Born in Cameroon more than just over a year ago, FKI Prod aims to soak up the showbiz, invest and get their name to the top and then win afterwards. Their primary role is to provide more quality and support in order to give Cameroon the possibility of producing high-quality content on an international scale.
In “Rastaman”, LILM plays the role of a lover who spends his days in smoking joints, who has never worked but has money and many doubts on where he gets his money from. All we know is that it doesn’t come from business. He is a megalomaniac narcissist and stays in the neighborhood hanging around.
This is a very rare situation to see a foreign artiste give all his project to an African label, talk less of Cameroonian label. And like we mentioned above, it looks more like an accomplishment for FKI Prod., but they have a lot to do to keep the relationship alive and prove that they are up to the task.
Cameroon music has penetrated Africa to the world and now, it’s time for Cameroonian music labels to penetrate Pan Africa and reach Europe just like the case of FKI Prod.
We wish them the very best.
