USA based Cameroonian Fashion designer, Gerald Meh CEO of EuroBoutique Rx, recently made his first media tour in Cameroon and introduced the EuroBoutique Rx shop and entire project to the Cameroon media and audience.
Euro Boutique Rx is a Cincinnati based boutique specialized in Italian and French clothing such as tuxedos, stripes, blazers, plain suits, winter overcoat jacket, shoes, shirts and other accessories.
Speaking during a press briefing in Limbe recently, Mr. Gerald Meh told Bloggers that he had always loved fashion, despite his regular job. The concept of EuroBoutique has been with him for many years as he grew up but finally put up a physical structure a couple of months ago.
Mr. Gerald explained that whatever he does, he always puts home first and that is why he is bringing the EuroBoutique to Cameroon as he plans to open the first two shops in Bastos, Yaounde and Akwa, Douala. 3 other shops in Limbe, Buea and Bamenda are in the pipeline. The Cameroonian market will benefit from considerate discounts from the shops upon launching while maintaining the quality of the products.
He further explained that at Euro Boutique Rx, they don’t just sell suits to clients at every demand. They do well to ask the clients the purpose of buying the suit (is it for birthday, wedding ceremonies, etc.) just to be able to recommend the type of outfit suitable for the occasion.
Speaking about the Cameroonian market and Entrepreneurial moves by young designers, he advises all aspirants to believe in themselves. Having not been born with a golden spoon, you need to trust in what you want to do, focus on it and you’ll make it. He advises against the desire for huge loans like 5 or 10 million FCFA to start businesses and says you can make with a small from 300 or 400, 000 FCFA.
The Cameroonian born living in the USA reputed for his colossal fashion sense is also known for his influence and support in Cameroon as a promoter and philanthropist. His love for the digital economy and upcoming Entrepreneurs made him to sponsor the first edition of the Bonteh Digital Media Awards and has been and has been supporting several philanthropic events and projects back home in Cameroon.
