Apple Music expands into 52 new markets with Cameroon making the list
Some very good news for Cameroonian music lovers and Apple users in particular; Apple recently unveiled one of its biggest expansions in recent times as they confirmed launching streaming music in 52 new countries including Cameroon while adding new markets for some of its other services.
Until now, Many Apple customers in Cameroon had access to some free apps and services for their devices without an opportunity for paid subscriptions like it’s done in other parts of the world. This expansion will surely persuade more users to explore Apple’s products and enable them have access to the Apple’s wider services ecosystem.
Cameroonians will now have access to, The App Store, Apple Arcade, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and iCloud. And new Apple Music subscribers can enjoy a six-month free trial of these services, with locally curated playlists including Africa Now, Afrobeats Hits, Ghana Bounce and more.
Apple Music’s pricing in Cameroon is set at USD $2.99 per month.
“We’re delighted to bring many of Apple’s most beloved Services to users in more countries than ever before,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and International Content, in a statement.
“We hope our customers can discover their new favourite apps, games, music, and podcasts as we continue to celebrate the world’s best creators, artists, and developers,” Oliver Schusser added.
Apple’s App Store is now available in more than 175 countries with Apple Music reaching 167 markets. In comparison, music streaming service giant Spotify is available in fewer countries, just over 80 nations following recent statistics.
