Cameroonian boxer Francis Ngannou becomes second African to star in “Fast & Furious”

Francis Ngannou recently starred in the latest project of the Fast and Furious franchise titled “Fast and Furious 9’’.

Francis Ngannou is a Cameroonian French professional mixed martial artist competing in the Heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As of September 25, 2019, he is #2 in the UFC heavyweight rankings.

After Beninese Djimon Hounsou who played the role of Jakande in Fast and Furious 7, Francis Ngannou is the second African to land a role in the American film “Fast & Furious”. He will appear in “Fast & Furious 9” alongside world stars such as Vin Diesel, Ludacris, John Cena, Cardi B and many others.

Fast & Furious 9 is an upcoming American action film directed by Justin Lin and written by Daniel Casey slated for release on May 21, 2020. A sequel to 2017’s The Fate of the Furious, it will be the ninth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise. Fast & Furious films have grossed more than $ 5 billion worldwide at the box office.
