Throwback Thursday: When Bonzyz brought together 9 traditional rulers from Cameroon for his debut single “Kupshi”.

Cameroonian Hip Hop artist, Kay Innocent Bonwe who hails from Donga Mantung Division may have gone silent for a while now but remains the artist with the most unique hip hop track and music video ever inspired, composed, recorded, produced and directed in Cameroon, featuring 9 Traditional rulers from Cameroon talking about Peace, Unity and Reconciliation.

Back in April 2016, Bonzyz dropped “Kupshi” which aimed at imploring all elites and leaders in all positions to stop he various vices like politics, bribery, wars, tribalism et al. that hinder human and community development. The concept with the traditional rulers was set out to appeal to come together and embrace peace, unity and development. He asked all to join together and build a pyramid, adding that we can unite and grow or divide and fall. It is important to note here that #Bonzyz came up with this project just few months before the lawyers and teachers went to the streets asking for almost same aspects.

Bonzyz after a long absence has recently signaled his comeback by being active on his various social media accounts. He plans to drop a new video tomorrow directed by Yonka and featuring Benzolo titled “Happy Home”. The waves from “Kupshi” are still fresh in our minds and we can only expect another blend of sounds, rhythms, drums and the Limbum language on this new one.
